SEASON OF THE
OSPREY
A PBS NATURE SPECIAL
Narrated by Paul Giamatti
DISTRIBUTED GLOBALLY AS OSPREY: SEA RAPTOR
Narrated by Sean Bean
From somewhere along the east coast of South America, an osprey has just flown 4000 miles to a small saltmarsh at the delta of the Connecticut River, the place that is imprinted on his memory since birth and where he will rejoin his mate. Over the course of one summer, the reunited osprey pair fends off enemies, hunts hundreds of fish, and raises their chicks into the next generation of aquatic raptors.
“Jacob’s film is sensational! It is the best footage of osprey flying, fishing and at the nest that I have ever seen. It’s a dazzling look at the osprey’s day-to-day life. And there’s the ability to integrate all that into the surrounding landscape of the Connecticut coast, bringing in some of the other wildlife that share this habitat. No one has done it better!”

Season of the Osprey is a stunning piece of nature cinematography. Far and away the best documentary on any bird of prey I’ve ever seen.
